After going to the Leslieville Tree Festival, I think there is demand for an unscented soap for sensitive skin. Preferably made from Olive Oil. I've looked into using organic olive oil, however, the only organic olive oil I can find is extra virgin, which does not produce good soap. Extra virgin olive oil is obtained when olives are pressed. I just finished a new batch of Honey Oatmeal. Smells great! I've been working on new packaging. My soap has originally been packed with brown packing paper, which looks good, but its not shishi enough. I've been experimenting with newsprint, as illustrated above. I'm going to try it out at the Leslieville Tree Festival to see how things look. :)

I'm on temporary hiatus, but when I came home, I made a couple bars of Lavender aloe soap. So nice. It's curing in Malaysia at the time. Are there any soapmakers in Malaysia?

I'm thinking more and more about rebatching. Laura made a really good point today about how it is so necessary for people to be able to smell a soap from outside of the packing paper, because a lot of people like scent. Which makes me believe that perhaps I should be about rebatching since the soap will be past curing, and I will be able to retain the scent a bit longer. Let me research into

When I was in California, we stopped off on Hwy 1, and hung out at Seacliff. I liked the feeling of sand on my feet, the smell of seaweed, clear salty water, and the sound of seagulls. Sand in soap? Could we put kelp in soap?

Got home from Newfoundland, and went downstairs to check on the peppermint french green clay soap after a month or so of curing. Looks good, though it doesn't smell like peppermint anymore. I should wrap up a couple of bars to see if the scent is retained. Tried out a bar last night in the shower, and the lather is excellent, and I think the slip of the clay came through. I thought I should start documenting my progress as the owner of Sherlock Soaps. I just got back from NYC and CA brimming with ideas and new recipes. Should be nice. As always, this is a work currently under construction.
